GTA 5 Mission Analysis: Franklin's Rushed Introduction

Hi everybody, check out my latest video where I analyze the GTA V missions! Today, I'm talking about the first several Franklin missions which include "Franklin and Lamar", "Repossession", "Pulling Favors", "Chop", and "Complications". "Franklin and Lamar" is the high octane introduction to Franklin Clinton and Lamar Davis, setting the stage for their friendship, the world of Los Santos, and GTA V's faster pace compared to GTA IV. "Repossession" is a gritty mission which involves a shootout with the Vagos and the emerging conflict between Franklin and Lamar. "Pulling Favors" is our first "Strangers and Freaks" mission and while others may not like it, I enjoy how it explores the dynamics of Franklin's relationships as it is the only mission of this batch that feels like it explores the complexities of Franklin's character. "Chop" is a terrible mission that does bring back the Ballas and Grove Street Families and introduces Lamar's dog Chop, but also just has some really lame gameplay elements. "Complications" is the mission that sets a turning point for Franklin, intertwining his life with the unpredictable chaos of the city and its consequences as his repossessing a car for Simeon leads to Michael pointing a gun at his head. These missions are ok, its still early in the game and no GTA game ever has truly great early missions. These ones at least change up the GTA formula by being faster paced, introducing fast paced car chases and firefights early in the game. Unfortunately, the story is in a rush to reintroduce Michael DeSanta and as a result, Franklin Clinton's character development is shortchanged.
