How to Make Friends in Kigali | Hash House Harriers

Every couple of years, someone drags me along on the Kigali Hash. The Hash House Harriers are a 'drinking club with a running problem' and exist in almost every major city around the world. Started in 1938 by a group of Brits living in Kuala Lumpur, it has slowly taken over the globe. Every Saturday the Hash meets at a different location - always a bar. From there, you can choose to walk or run a paper-chase route around the back streets of Kigali. It's a great way to make friends and see the lesser-travelled parts of the town. Be warned, it can get a bit boisterouse once the drinking starts. It's currently 3,500 to participate, and includes two beers at the end.
