In the 1920s Dr John Job Crew Bradfield designed an Eastern Suburbs Railway loop. This line would have been more accessible, better integrated with the city circle, Central Station and surrounding suburbs and included a hell of a lot more stations. But the Eastern Suburbs Railway would fall off the tracks, and only a fraction of the original design would see the light of day. In this episode well explore what it would have looked like, where it would have went, and how it would have got there, if the great depression, world war II and the rise of the automobile, didn’t get in the way. Bradfield’s eastern suburbs railway line, in part 3 of our John Bradfield series.
