Four versions of the famous Act One closing scene from Lerner and Loewe's musical Camelot. In this scene, Arthur has just realized that Lancelot and Guenevere have feelings for each other. Arthur, alone with his thoughts, makes a Proposition. The performances shown here are: Richard Burton (1961, Broadway) Richard Harris (1967, the movie) Richard Harris (1981, Broadway revival) Andrew Burnap (2023, Broadway revival and rewrite by Aaron Sorkin) I did not have footage for Andrew Burnap, but the cast recording includes the speech, so it is easy to hear the changes Aaron Sorkin made to the script. I don't think a cast recording rendition ever quite lives up to a live performance, so take that particular comparison with a grain of salt. Which rendition is your favorite? All rights go to their respective owners. I do not own this footage.
