Ever wonder if those weird looking green cigars are any good? Are they just a St. Patrick's Day novelty? Well know that from the late 1950's to the early 1970's, almost every cigar being smoked in America was green! By 1958 candelas were the staple cigars in America. Candela wrapped cigars had a huge following as it was an easy to produce wrapper tobacco and it made for cheaper and faster cigars for people. It was so popular that it became known as the American Market Selection. The Candela colored wrapper was also known by the name Double Claro. After the early 1970's they lost their popularity being replaced by the well known Connecticut wrapper. They did gain a resurgence in the 1990's and have become more accessible in the last few years. So if you are wondering what I think of these green bad boys...take a look at this video. I will take you through the pro's and the con's.
