[EngSub] 🇲🇲 The Landmark of Salay - Yoke Sone Kyaung

Once used as a monastery, YokeSoneKyaung is now a museum. It's open from Tuesday to Sunday and close on Monday and the public holidays. Opening hour is 9:30 am to 4:30 pm. There has no entrance fees but you need to register at the entrance gate. It was built by U Phoe Kyi and his wife Daw Shwe Thet in 1882 (during the reign of King Thibaw Min who was the last King of Myanmar) and completed in 1892 (during the colonial period). In fact, Salay YokeSoneKyaung is one of the most artistic woodcarvings monasteries in Myanmar. Its wooden sculptures are famous for their facial expressions and detailed carvings.
