辺戸岬は、沖縄県国頭郡国頭村に位置する沖縄本島最北端の岬で、2016年『やんばる国立公園』に指定されています。岬からはどこまでも続く水平線や美しいサンゴの地形、ボニンブルーの大海原が望め、約2億5千万年前に形成された約20m程の石灰岩が長い年月の波や雨風で浸食したダイナミックな地形も見る事ができます。遊歩道には1972年の沖縄返還から29年後の2001年に与論町から友好の証として贈られた『かりゆしの像(上半身が鳥、下半身が魚)』や、かつてこの辺りが国境であったため本土復帰を記念して1976年に建立された『祖国復帰闘争碑記念碑』があり、歴史や平和、幸せを願うモニュメントとして親しまれています。岬の南側には、山原に生息する鳥をモチーフとした高さ11.5mのヤンバルクイナ展望台があり、辺戸岬や天候が良ければ与論島も見渡す事ができます。 ☆ 少しでも興味を持っていただけたら是非、高評価・チャンネル登録よろしくお願いいたします(^^♪ Cape Hedo, located in Kunigami Village, Kunigami District, Okinawa Prefecture, is the northernmost cape on Okinawa's main island. It was designated part of Yanbaru National Park in 2016. From the cape, visitors can enjoy sweeping views of the horizon, beautiful coral reefs, and the vast expanse of Bonin blue ocean. The cape also offers a dynamic landscape, eroded by waves, wind, and rain over the years, from the approximately 20-meter-tall limestone rocks formed approximately 250 million years ago. The promenade is home to the Kariyushi Statue (half bird, half fish), a gift from Yoron Town in 2001 as a symbol of friendship, 29 years after Okinawa's return to Japan in 1972. The area was once the border, so the monument commemorating Okinawa's return to the mainland was erected in 1976. These beloved monuments are a reflection of history, peace, and happiness.
