Our attempt to reach a scenic camp spot near a dam took an unexpected turn when we got lost in the dark and couldn’t find the trail. With no signal to relocate, we ended up sleeping in the car for the night. The next day, we explored a stunning waterfall before attempting to reach another—but the rough dirt tracks on Devil’s Staircase had other plans for us! Determined to find adventure, we carried 15kg of firewood to what we believe is the most remote bothy in Wales, crossing multiple rivers along the way (and getting very wet feet!). Upon arrival, we were welcomed by two friendly Welsh guys and their XL Bully, who had a warm fire going. We spent the evening swapping camping stories and enjoying the cozy bothy vibes.
