Ukuleles don't usually have a radius-ed fret board. But my arthritis makes bar chords a little difficult, so I thought I would try a radius on my home built ukulele... I use my Flatmaster sander to accomplish this. I have extension tables to effectively widen the top so it is long enough for the 16" long tooling. The tool is a 14" length of 2X4 that was sanded on one face to make a flat surface to attach the fret board blank. "rockers" made from 3/4" plywood are 0.25 inch proud of the center of the 2X4. I used a pencil on a string to trace the 9 inch and 18 inch radius curves for the rockers, cut them out with my band saw then sanded to the line on my spindle saw. I am pleased with how the surface turned out. Very smooth transition between 9" and 18" radius.
