In this lecture, we will discuss the Venera spacecraft numbered 5 & 6. These craft were designed to explore the atmosphere of Venus. They defended through the atmosphere using a parachute and survived for about 50 minutes of the decent. The Astronomy Picture of the Day video will be uploaded each Monday. The Astronomy of Other Cultures video will be uploaded each Wednesday. The Exploration of the Solar System video will be uploaded each Friday.
