Seventeenth century England produced an awful lot of wonderful characters. In this video I recount the life story of Jeffrey Hudson, a man from a humble background, who due to his development of proportional dwarfism in childhood would find himself at the very epicentre of the court life on the eve of the English Civil War. His life story, includes such japes and frivolities of being baked in a pie, and being put inside a giant's sandwich, for the entertainment of the court, but it had a darker side. He killed a man in duel, he was twice being captured by pirates, he spent decades in slavery, and eventually time in prison in London.
