Review and Smoking a Fortuna Green Menthol Cigarette, currently made and distributed by ITG Brands in the United States. Fortuna, meaning fortune, or luck, in Spanish, as one may guess, is an older brand of cigarettes originally from Spain that was first introduced in 1974 by Tabacalera, supposedly to compete with foreign cigarettes. Apparently, the brand grew to be quite successful quite quickly, due to, from what I can tell at least, them undercutting comparable foreign imports in price. In the 1990’s Tabacalera merged with the French Tobacco Monopoly, called SEITA, forming a new company, and then that new company was purchased by Imperial Tobacco, now known as the Imperial Group, in 2008, making the brand an ITG Brand, both in Spain, and internationally.
