The Stories of Southern Illinois, episode one - Little Egypt

In the heart of the Midwest. In the vast area between the Ohio and the mighty Mississippi, we find a land that is layered in history. From archeological sites revealing hints of the woodland people who long ago inhabited the area. While other locations have been shaped by the early settlers intent on taming its wilderness. Geographically the place is Southern Illinois, but the land between the two great waterways of North America was long ago nicknamed "Little Egypt." Through a collaboration with my friends and Union Street Arts, we will spend the next several weeks sharing some of the very best stories the place called Little Egypt has to offer. So join us as we share the Stories of Southern Illinois.
