Rejection has a way of feeling deeply personal. A job you didn’t get. A relationship that ended. An opportunity that fell through. It can shake your identity and make you question your worth. In this episode, I will explore the possibility that rejection isn’t failure, maybe it’s redirection. I share personal experiences, including ending a six year relationship when our life goals were no longer aligned, being furloughed in 2020 during a season of uncertainty, and now navigating another unexpected job loss. Each moment felt devastating at the time. Each felt like something I had failed. But looking back, those closed doors led me to somewhere better, a marriage aligned in values, better health, professional growth, and a deeper understanding of who I am. Rejection challenges our sense of control and disrupts the narrative we are building. Yet sometimes it removes us from spaces we were quietly outgrowing. Trusting that rejection might be redirection doesn’t mean pretending it doesn’t hurt. It means allowing the pause without rushing to fill it. It means, considering that the closed door might be an invitation to realign.
