Yikes. During the final boss fight, the number of errors just kept piling up. Each turn there was at least one error being made by me. I applied the Tusk Powder too early. That was my damage buffer and I wasted it. I should have let my Lanturn Hound get damaged first from the initial Tidal Wave, heal back and then apply the Powder. I forgot to give the stolen Galvanize to the Kilimaro I cycled on the first turn. This limited my damage output. I erased from my memory that the Positive Feedback talent was a thing. It would trigger whenever an ally was healed, but not from overheals (this second part was the reason I did not treat this talent seriously). However, here it kept scaling the Boss' Amalgmate and his Cognivil even after the Lightbringer was down. It was the price I had to pay, when I struggled to one-shot his remaining monsters. When the Lanturn Hound died, I lost all the hope. I was not even looking when the Boss used his last Milk to cure the debuffs I applied earlier. I only noticed this after viewing the replay later. I was supposed to watch him carefully and pick a perfect moment to use my Narcotulip. That would have put to sleep both the Specimen and the Deer via the Peer Learning. My only saving grace was that I remembered about the Rock in my backpack. Even before the Boss fight started, I was not sure how I am gonna finish off Boss' Amalgamate. My strength scaling was almost none. The Rock solved the Amalgmate problem. Looking back, catching the Lanturn Dog might have been a mistake. If I had sticked to the Kilimaro plan, I could have taken a Nostoptera with Sadistic and someone else with a multi hit move. I added another lightweight monster - the Reaper, mostly for any extra body, 6 damage and high speed. I knew he could take care of the Boss' Crab, but I was already starting to worry about what would happen after that. I considered catching a Pachi and fusing it with the Reaper to fix the low health. The problem with the Pachi capture was that it would have prevented me from catching my final monster. Against my better judgment, I selected the Cavemaw as my final monster. On the glance, the Tentacles could have provided enough stall time to get through two Tidal Waves from the Boss' Amalgmate. The problem with that was one Tentacle dying at a wrong time, from the Tidal Wave, could result in one of my remaining monsters getting an extra hit from either the Boss' Cognivil or from his Specimen. I realized this error in time, but it was too late to fix it fully, other than putting one of the Tentacles in front. The victory was achieved, but at what cost? Well, at least I will never touch this mode ever again. I might try out the Boss Rush again later, once I am done with the Bestiary. Start 0:00 Golden Beetle 41:58 Lost Explorer 1:18:07
