THE SEAGULLS - A GOLF FILM

The Seagulls is a 72 year old tradition at Hyannisport- one of the most revered and historic private clubs on Cape Cod. For the first two weekends in April, the club opens its doors to the local sticks. The Seagulls is a 2-man match play tournament, open entry to all players in Cape Cod, Nantucket, and Martha's Vineyard. Teams play 18 holes of stroke play, then brackets form and matches ensue. The tournament gets its name from the traditionally bad weather on Cape Cod in April. Despite it and always playing through it, 224 players from all walks of life gather to compete with each other. Many of these guys have been playing this for decades. Several teams from host Hyannisport Club will compete but this private club's tradition isn't about its members at all. This tradition is the gift of access to the local golf community to start the golf season.
