Police revealed that the snatcher was part of a dangerous gang operating in CP and Paharganj areas, notorious for carrying surgical blades hidden inside their mouths. These criminals use the blade to slash victims who resist during snatching, leaving permanent injuries. The gang has also been targeting tourists from other states and foreign countries. In one disturbing case, a man from Mizoram was robbed of his mobile phone and later extorted for ₹10,000 for its return. Even after settling the deal at ₹5,000, the victim never got his phone back. During the arrest, the accused attempted to attack police personnel with a blade, but due to quick thinking and professional restraint, the officers managed to overpower him without injuries. A blade and three stolen mobile phones were recovered. The viral video has sparked serious concern over public safety and the boldness of criminals on Delhi’s streets.
