In a concert commemorating the historic Zoellner Quartet, Hyde Hall in Glimmerglass State Park will host the Musicians of Ma'alwyck. Their performance takes place Sunday evening, September 10 near Cooperstown. From 1912 to 1925, The Zoellner Quartet toured the United States and Canada. They rarely went a day without a performance; visiting major venues, mining settlements and Native American nations. Among their friends were Albert Einstein and Helen Keller. The Hyde Hall concert is the brainchild of Dr. Christopher Brellochs, who chairs the Music Department of SUNY-Schenectady, and serves as a music consultant for the HBO series The Gilded Age. Brellochs joins WSKG host Bill Snyder, along with Lady Alexandra Foley, the grand-daughter of the quartet’s founder, and violinist Ann Marie Barker Schwartz, who leads the Musicians at Ma'alwyck.
