'My own path' by Malene Degn - Team KMC Orbea

Malene Degn was born in Copenhagen 25 years ago. Denmark, the country without mountains, the highest point of it barely reaches 171m in altitude. Although everyone moves around by bicycle, it is not a country with a really big cycling tradition, especially in mountain biking. During her childhood, her family often reminded her how much she was with her mother, so when she was 9 years old she had a brilliant idea: ask her father for a mountain bike to be able to spend more time with him. Surely neither she nor anyone imagined that she would end up being the elite national champion a few years later. Although she recently moved to Spain with her partner, Loïc Bruni, whenever her schedule allows it, she returns to Copenhagen, where she has her roots, family and friends.
