I will be making out of fabric: tea towels, but showing you how to make cheap and easy tea towels to start with , as well as a hanging tea towel. This is a tutorial on how to make a tea towel. Easy tutorial, or Diy tea towel video. Seriously, DIY tea towels are simple to make all you need is a sewing machine, scissors, thread, pins and fabric of your choice. I talk about the right choice of fabric for a tea towel, as some materials are not suitable or absorbent enough. It very important to look at your fabric to check if it will get the pots dry as some tea towel tutorials, may not look at this as a consideration. Check the size of your tea towels and use them as your templates. Kitchen towels and tea towels can cost a lot of money so sewing them yourself saves money and you can use the fabric you want and match it in to your Decor. I didn't mention in my video sewing on a loop at the top to hang it from a hook which can be useful. There are lots of designs also for pimping up your tea towels, you can make this basic design and embellish it further with lace or extra fabric panels the fun starts here! Why not paint a design on your tea towel with fabric paint or stamp text onto it to personalise your towels. Then using up more fabric you can make other items for the kitchen like an apron, a hanging kitchen towel, a simple curtain to hide a washing machine or dishwasher, cafe style curtains or a roman blind or roller blind for your kitchen window or cushions and matching tablecloth and tie the style all together you will need lots more matching material.
