The Grand Carousel at Knoebels was built by George Kremer of Kremers Carousel Works and carved by Charles Carmel. It originally opened at North Beach on Long Island, NY in 1912, until it was eventually moved to Riverside Park in Rahway, NJ (date unknown). Henry Knoebel purchased the carousel in 1941 from Riverside Park and has operated at Knoebels amusement park ever since. The Grand Carousel includes 27 jumping horses, 36 standing horses, 3 chariots, and an operational ring arm. It also has 3 rotating band organs. The largest is an 1888 Frati and Company, the outside organ is a 1910 Gebruder Bruder style 107, and the inside organ is a Wilhem Bruder model 79. The Grand Carousel has been consistently voted as the world's best carousel by Amusement Today's Golden Ticket Awards. Knoebels is located in Elysburg, PA.
