Peter will speak about the times from WotC inception until just before the acquisition of TSR including early roleplaying projects like Talislanta and his own Primal Order, and of course, Magic: The Gathering. He will then continue with his stories about running WotC, the aquisition of TSR (and with it, Dungeons and Dragons), the launch of the 3rd edition of D&D, the Open Gaming License, Pokemon, the sale to Hasbro, and his departure on good terms in 2001. This presentation was recorded at Ropecon 2012. Ropecon is the largest non-commercial roleplaying convention in Europe. The convention was held for the 19th time during summer 2012 in the Dipoli conference center in Espoo, Finland. Ropecon gathers over 3.500 participants annually for one weekend to play roleplaying, collectible card, miniature, board, and live action role-playing games, to listen to presentations, and to participate in workshops.
