Escaping Dubai for Muscat, Oman This vlog is all about escaping the chaos of Dubai and heading to Muscat, Oman with two friends — and honestly, it was the breath of fresh air I didn’t know I needed. We kicked off the trip with a boat day with Ella’s uncle, where I saw my first-ever turtle swimming in the wild — an unreal, pinch-me moment. We journeyed back at sunset, with the most beautiful golden views over the water. Our first morning was slow and calm (very unlike Dubai). I woke up early, sat outside, and listened to birds chirping — something you definitely don’t get back in the busy city. We then headed into the mountains, stopping at Jebel Akhdar for a viewpoint check before continuing to Diana’s Viewpoint and a cobbled village perched on top of the mountain — the views were insane. For sunrise, we visited Nizwa Fort, known for its stunning architecture and peaceful atmosphere. Next adventure: Wadi Shab — a beautiful hike with crystal-clear lagoons to swim in. It does get busy, so I’d 100% recommend going early in the morning to beat the human traffic. And yes… I jumped off the cliff hehe. The Sultan Qaboos Grand Mosque was a must-visit especially as its in the heart of the city— absolutely breathtaking with its grand architecture and shiny, spotless floors. Just remember to cover up before visiting. For our final full day, we slowed things right down with a pool day at Al Bustan Palace, a Ritz-Carlton hotel. Although… if you know me, you know I’m terrible at sitting still, so I ended up wandering around and bringing you with me. We finished the trip with an evening swim at Shatti Beach during the most breathtaking sunset, before I was up early again the next morning for a solo sunrise walk, watching a police training programme along the beach — such a cool and unexpected way to end the trip.
