In the last two episodes, we discussed how and when to visit Girnar and ways to reach Guru Dattatreya charan paduka mandir (Guru Shikhar). Also, we traveled in a ropeway up to the Ambaji Mata temple. In this episode, you will see our yatra to (Gorakhnath) Gorakshnath temple, Guru Dattatreya charan paduka mandir (Guru Shikhar) and Kamandal( Kamandalu) tirtha. Girnar is a sacred mountain where Lord Dattatreya performed tapasya for 12,000 years. It is believed that Girnar is a habitant place of Lord Dattatreya, Shri Gorakhnath (Gorakshnath), Ambaji mata, and numerous deities. Girnar is a mountain range older than the Himalayas. The place that Lord Dattatreya has purified through his eternal stay and proved through penance for twelve thousand years is the exclusive faith of the devotees of Girnar. In Shiva Purana, Girnar is mentioned as Revatachal Mountain. In the Skanda Purana, the names of Girnar are found in Raivat, Revachal, Kumud, and Ujjayanta. Revachal, Kumud, and Ujjayant are associated with the Trinity (Brahma, Vishnu, Shankar). There is evidence in the Puranas that Shri Ram and Pandavas lived on this mountain. In the Puranas, it is mentioned as Shwetachal, Shvetagiri. Girnar Mountain is said to be older than the Himalayas. We hope you will like this digital yatra of all holy places.
