South Adams County Ennis Water Softening Facility

To improve water quality for its 66,000 customers, South Adams County Water and Sanitation District implemented a technology that hasn’t been used in the U.S. very often – pellet softening. The technology, which reduces the District’s water hardness from 380 mg/l to 115 mg/l and generates several environmental benefits, has tremendous potential for owners that are dealing with hard water and struggling to keep up with old lime softening plants. Carollo designed and provided engineering services during construction of the state-of-the-art Ennis Water Softening facility.
