Wide of people running away as security forces shoot tear gas and sound bombs STORYLINE: Iraqi security forces fired teargas at dozens of protesters on Sunday evening after they attempted to enter Baghdad's heavily-fortified Green Zone which hosts the U.S. embassy. Protesters earlier marched to mourn the death of Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, who was killed Saturday in a series of U.S. and Israeli airstrikes against the Islamic Republic. The U.S. embassy in Iraq is one of the largest globally. Iran-backed Iraqi militias have claimed responsibility for attacks on U.S. bases in the country in solidarity with Tehran. The Iraqi government for years has tried to maintain a delicate balance having close ties to both Washington and neighboring Tehran. More than 200 people have been killed since the start of the strikes that killed Khamenei and other senior leaders, Iranian leaders said.
