With that said, we started with the demolition removing the walls of two closets. Next we shut down the system, drained the water heater and began cutting through the pipes to remove the bulky utilities. Damn look how big those are. The Navien should be positioned close to an exterior wall for ventilation purposes. Place the attachment bracket three quarters of the way up the wall to secure the Navien body. The following steps get technical – but here’s the gist of it. There are two PVC pipes that need to be measured, cut and fitted for the intake valve and vent exhaust gas for the condensed boiler and hot water heater. Then follow the copper gold piping --- to reconnect the gas line, hot and cold water supply and the condensate drain. The piping was all cut, threaded and crimped together.
