We finally fight our rival again, which we haven’t done since the start of the game (not counting the PWT battle.) Honestly, a problem I had with the rival battles in the originals is that you battle them too much to the point that they slow down the pacing of the game, but here it’s the opposite as you don’t fight your rival enough and it makes the pacing of the game faster than it should be, lol. Anyway, 6 gyms later, he still only has 3 Pokémon. I thought I’d let my evolved Vibrava take care of some of his team to show it off in its middle stage at least once before it evolves (and I haven’t featured it in a noteworthy battle since Elesa’s battle as a Trapinch) but it unfortunately got knocked out by Emboar. I also show off my 6th and final team member, Starmie! I could’ve used it against Unfeazant and then Emboar and leave Simipour to Vibrava if I wanted to use it, but I didn’t want it gaining any EVs in Attack yet, whereas Vibrava could use them more. That ended up not happening anyway.
