Time to look at the payload which includes a camera, video transmitter and batteries. As usual, not everything goes to plan so the first-attempt fails due to the choice of 12V battery to power the video camera. In this video I also decide to go for a much larger (240 liter) envelope after realizing that the 50 liter version will probably not generate enough lift. I also have some fun with passive solar balloons, getting one of the 50 liter bags to almost lift off and getting one of the 240 liter ones to fly away into the wild blue yonder (well almost). And, for the environmentalists, I am using "compostible" bags that, so the label says, will bio-degrade and leave no trace.
