Transforming our tired 1960s house continues! In this video, we take our 20-year-old white uPVC windows and paint them almost-black from the inside to give our home a fresh, modern look — WITHOUT replacing them. We clean decades of sticky mess, remove the sliding door (solo!), scrape, sand, prime with Zinsser BIN, paint with Dulux Trade Satinwood, restore our hardwood window sills, AND we even attend a wedding halfway through the project. Oh — and then there was the black caulk incident. If you’ve ever overestimated your caulking skills: this one is for you. Let us know in the comments: 👉 Have YOU ever skipped masking tape and instantly regretted everything? 👉 Can you help us identify the wood species of our window sills? (We think maybe iroko!) In this video you’ll see: ✔ Kat’s homemade PVC cleaning mix ✔ Removing PVC trims and filling gaps with expanding foam ✔ Removing a heavy sliding door with a suction tool ✔ Priming PVC windows with BIN (no masking tape!) ✔ Painting PVC windows almost-black (interior only) ✔ Restoring beautiful hardwood window sills ✔ Using rare black acrylic caulk… and making a big mistake 😅 ✔ A last-minute wedding-panic paint touch-up ✔ The final reveal – modern, sleek, almost-black frames If you’ve ever wanted black modern windows but don’t want to spend thousands, this might be the cheapest AND most dramatic transformation you can do. As always, thank you for joining our DIY renovation journey ❤️ — Georgos & Kat (RealisticDIYers) Our Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/realisticdi...
