But their lives are never a dull moment, and each two/three-minute episode is full of adventure and surprises! From the steam engines to the mermaids, these are the ones who call Crotoonia home! --------------------- DIRECTOR'S NOTES: It's time for our first non-vehicle Meet the Crotoonians! As one of my absolute favorite Disney characters and one with endless ideas for Crotoonia, an Ariel short's been on my mind for quite some time (with a very different one co-starring Meg and Piper being penned many a year ago), and I'm very glad to have finally given her a starring role! This was penned back in June 2022 and hardly changed from the original script we wrote beyond some different shot directions! This was shortly after we brought on the fabulous ‪@SaiyanSerenityV‬ as Ariel, and what a first performance we got for her! She really captures the fun, fearlessly optimistic, and slightly mischevious Ariel we know and love while bringing her own flaire to it! This was pushed back due to Mainland's wonderful Fulton model requiring a freshly done cab interior (which I ended up building myself), but despite burnout and work leaving this to be a bit of a hurry to the end (it is about ten minutes to upload when I'll be done writing this!), this was surprisingly fast to get done! I feel especially proud of my animation of Ariel here, especially considering I haven't done human animation to this extent for some time! Shoutouts to ‪@PeaceyPraps‬ and ‪@giano_art0653‬ for rounding out our voice cast on this one; both bring delight to Luke and Duncan and hope to work with both again very soon! And many thanks to Makker and Dukey for their advice on some of the earlier production scenes for this.
