Welcome to the Next Project! I’m making a router table drop-in deck-plate for my HOSS (Handheld Oscillating Spindle Sander)! The HOSS is a relatively new addition to stuff I don't have room for, but has proven itself to be a handly little gizmo. Recenlty I've found myself making pattern templates for various wood working projects, and using the HOSS free-hand limits my results a bit. The problem I have, is that I can't see the workpiece when I'm holding the HOSS. There is a tabletop clamp system that is included, and it does work, but also shows it's weakness as soon as you start using it. The base on the HOSS is rather small/narrow. This makes it a challenge to work on thing with size or mass to them. Here is were my ghetto router table steps in and saves the day, OK, that's a bit of an overstatement. But the idea is simple and the function is better than expected. 0:05 - project intro 1:15 - prepping the deck 1:45 - initial layout (on the fly planning - or reacting perhaps) 2:15 - cutting and fitting (parts) 2:42 - thickness-ing or plane-ing 3:02 - superglue (CA) tip 3:42 - installing t-nuts and gluing things together 4:38 - final assembly 5:05 - quick testing Thanks for watching, I hope the video gives you some ideas to borrow from. This video and all of my projects are just for entertainment. Use proper safety practices and improve upon whatever I’m showing you here. Be safe, not sorry! I hope you enjoyed this video!
