Outback Express is a four-person detachable chairlift located at Keystone Resort. The lift runs from the bottom of the resort's Outback area up to the summit of The Outback. From the top of the lift, skiers and riders may access all of The Outback's intermediate and advanced terrain, including some of the best tree runs at the resort. From the summit of the chairlift, expert hike-to terrain, including the North and South Bowls on Wapiti Peak, may be accessed. The lift was manufactured by Doppelmayr and installed at the resort in 1991. Keystone Resort is a ski resort located in Keystone, Colorado. The resort is located in Summit County, just east of the town of Silverthorne and a convenient 90-minute drive west of Denver on Interstate 70 and US Route 6. The resort is spread across four main areas: Dercum Mountain, the starting point for all skiers at Keystone, which features a wide array of long beginner and intermediate groomed terrain; North Peak, which primarily features intermediate and advanced tree-cut terrain; The Outback, which features a collection of glades and tree-cut intermediate and advanced trails; and Bergman Bowl, a newly lift-serviced area of the mountain which features beginner and intermediate bowl skiing. In addition to lift-served terrain, Keystone also features many hike-to expert areas across multiple peaks. Keystone was one of the first mountains purchased by Vail Resorts in 1996, and is a destination on the company's Epic Pass products.
