Part 2 - Walk around Bracknell town centre lifts inc 3M building images

On with the journey - my exciting tour of Bracknell town centre lifts! After visiting Car Park 2, I walk past The Grange hotel towards some very old otis lifts. These are still out of action and boarded up. I thought these may have been modernised like the other ones, but nothing has changed here. On reaching the ground floor, the motor room doors are not bolted vertically, only into each other, so it looks like with a yank they would come open. I did try them and they would probably open, but not without some effort so I didn't proceed! Back into Charles Square, I turn towards Bentalls. After passing some nice women down the ramp, I go up the Express Lift to the first floor. This lift is almost original. The new external call buttons and floor displays are bolted over the original Express bulb panel (you can see the orange lamp direction arrows at the top). Out of the rear entrance of Bentalls and back across into the High Street car park. I tried looking for the motor room for that old Otis disabled lift, but the only clue is an unmarked blue door on the level above. The car park lifts down this end of the car park were modernised late 1990. The up/down buttons are possibly muddled up (see vid)! After exiting out the back of the car park and walking down the road, I noticed a stairwell at the edge of the car park with what looks like a motor room on the roof. Yes, looks like an old otis lift. It's had some modernisation, but the rest looks original. Problem is, the lift car has overtravelled into the pit and is out of service - will have to come back another day for this! I had a look around the derelict 3M building - loads of ways to get in from the roof of the market area (I'd love to explore it!) - NOW ALL BOARDED UP (Feb2011) Derelict car park 5 is also here, see my other video when I explored the motor room shown here.
