Both of them turned out to be beautiful stops, in very different ways. Parque Nacional Uruapan is one of the most naturally beautiful places I've visited in Mexico. It's full of waterfalls and lush forest. Morelia is a classic colonial city that completely surprised us with its beautiful and clean downtown. We're surprised, not to find such a nice city in Mexico (because Mexico has many great cities) but because I had not heard of many people visiting Morelia before. I really think Uruapan and Morelia are both very underrated destinations, and should be considered if you are planning a trip through Mexico. Travel safely, as I am aware that there are parts of Michoacan where violence is an issue. But we had no issues whatsoever on this trip through a truly beautiful part of Mexico.
