The wild boar is a highly adaptable animal. Males are usually solitary, whereas females, and especially those with young, travel in a group. If you encounter a wild boar in forested area, stay calm and observe from a safe distance, and do not feed it. Encountering a wild boar in an urban setting can be dangerous as they are unfamiliar with the environment. This makes them more prone to being unpredictable and aggressive. If you encounter a wildlife in an urban setting, stay out of its way and keep as far away as you can. Call NParks' 24-hour Animal Response Centre (1800-476-1600) for assistance if required.
