HRM Oba Akeem Olokodano, Alakodo of Akodo Kingdom, Debunks Claims of Imposed Oba, Reaffirms Respect for Rule of Law Akodo Kingdom, Lagos State — His Royal Majesty, Oba Akeem Olokodano, the Alakodo of Akodo Kingdom, has strongly debunked recent claims circulating on social media alleging that he was imposed on the Akodo community as monarch. The revered traditional ruler described the allegations as false, misleading, and capable of causing unnecessary tension, stressing that no government has the power to impose a king on a community against established customs and legal processes. In a statement released to address the growing concerns, Oba Olokodano reaffirmed his deep respect for the rule of law, tradition, and due process, noting that his emergence followed recognized traditional procedures in line with Akodo Kingdom’s customs and the laws of Lagos State. “There is absolutely no truth in the claim that I was imposed on Akodo people,” Oba Olokodano stated. “Government does not impose kings. The selection and installation of a traditional ruler follow laid-down traditional rites and legal steps. I am a product of due process, not force.” The monarch further explained that challenges surrounding the Akodo Obaship existed long before his emergence, with disputes involving multiple ruling families already in court. He emphasized that his role is not to deepen division but to promote peace, unity, and development within the community. “I am not here to fight anybody. My only mission is the development of Akodo Community. We need peace, cooperation, and mutual respect to move our kingdom forward,” he added. Oba Olokodano also appealed to youths and stakeholders to avoid spreading unverified information, urging them instead to embrace dialogue and lawful means in resolving disputes. He warned against activities capable of undermining community growth, including illegal land sales and actions that could incite unrest. Reiterating his openness, the Alakodo assured residents that his palace remains open to constructive ideas, meaningful engagement, and collaboration that will bring lasting development to Akodo Kingdom. “Let us join hands together to make Akodo great. I am open to any idea that will bring progress and prosperity to our land,” he concluded. The Akodo Kingdom calls on the general public, media practitioners, and community members to disregard the false narratives and continue to support peace, lawful leadership, and sustainable development in the kingdom.
