Link to RF Quests blog post: https://www.rfquests.com/POTA-Activat... In this video, we take you on another exciting Parks on the Air (POTA) activation at Indian Springs State Park (K-2186, Flovilla, GA). We decided to revisit the same park, as it is a great way to make progress towards the "Repeat Offender Activator" award, and we always enjoy chasing contesting awards! We set up our EFHW antenna at a picnic table we'd previously activated at, and despite KO4KVG struggling to get the Nalgene bottle into the tree with an overhand throw, she managed to get the antenna set up using the "Granny Shot". With the Yaesu FT-818 powered up, we began our search for QSOs on 20m. Unfortunately, the video clip containing all of our QSOs was lost during data transfer. However, we were thrilled to score some amazing park-to-park (P2P) QSOs by first checking the POTA spots before putting out our own spot. We even got a "wild card" QSO in Washington, DC, which counts towards the "Hunted US States" award. We also made DX contacts in Cuba and Canada. We even managed to work through high QRM with a station in Florida for another P2P, and the sense of teamwork was incredible! After getting several P2Ps, we put out a spot and continued our quest for activation. 45 minutes later, we each had 30+ QSOs, successfully completing our second POTA activation of Indian Springs. We established a solid routine for both where we set up and how we set up for working 20m, and we can't wait to make future trips back to the park, where maybe one of these days, we can bring our mountain bikes and reacquaint ourselves with the trails!
