Hi, everyone, Jesse here with etrailer. Today we'll be taking a look at and I'll show you how to install the TowSmart custom-fit trailer hitch receiver on our 2025 Hyundai Santa Fe. Adding a hitch to a Santa Fe really makes a ton of sense. It is a big car, but you might have all those seats filled up, and that takes away from some of your storage space. So with this hitch, you can add on extra storage space, whether it be something like a cargo carrier or a bike rack, and you can even do some light-duty towing. Just remember, if you plan on doing any towing with your vehicle, you will need to add on some trailer wiring to keep you safe and legal out there on the road. Here's a closer look at our hitch installed on our neighbor's vehicle. As you can see, the cross tubes are pretty much hidden behind the fascia, so all you'll be able to see is the receiver opening. And that receiver opening is your standard two-inch-by-two-inch opening. And behind that, we have another standard 5/8-inch pinhole. The pin and clip not included with the hitch. However, we have many options available here at etrailer. Also, any accessory that you add on will most likely come with one included. And we have a sturdy safety cable loop down here. Easy to access with whatever style safety cable you have. For example, this large clevis or even an S like this. Now, for some quick measurements, we'll start with our ground clearance. From the ground to the top of the inside of the collar is right at about 12 inches. So that is on the low side. You'll probably wanna look for accessories or ball mounts with a slight rise to them. And from the center of our pinhole to the edge of our bumper here is right at five inches. That number you'll wanna keep in mind for any folding accessories that you might add on, to make sure they don't make contact with the vehicle. As for the weight capacities with this hitch, we have a gross trailer weight of 4,500 pounds. That's the amount of weight that you can pull behind the vehicle. And we have a maximum tongue weight of 675, plus the amount of weight pushing down on the hitch. Always be sure to double-check your vehicle's owner's manual to ensure that your vehicle can handle that weight safely. All in all, if you're looking for a hitch for your Santa Fe, the tow mart is gonna be a good option for you. If you have any questions or concerns about this hitch or anything else we offer here at etrailer, feel free to reach out to us, we'd be happy to get you pointed in the right direction. As for the installation with this hitch, it's honestly a pretty simple process. You do have to lower the exhaust and then lift the weight of the hitch up to get it in place. So if it's not something that you're looking to do yourself, check out our dealer locator. You can find someone local to you that would be happy to get this set up for you. If you are looking to see how this gets installed, then just follow along and I'll walk you through it. To begin our installation, you'll want to lower your spare, get it out of the way, and then we're gonna lower our exhaust down. Make sure that you have something supporting the exhaust before you lower it down. I'm using a cam strap, but if you're working on the ground, you could use something like a floor jack. I'm gonna start with this rear hanger here. You can usually use a pry bar on these ones, just kind of pop it all the way off. There's another one tucked on the outside corner here, a little bit trickier to get to. And once again, I'm using the the pry bar. Just gotta get some leverage and get that popped up. And once you get the two rear hangers off, we'll move to the center one. It is really nice to have an exhaust hanger tool like this. If you don't have one, you can still use a pry bar. It's just tougher to find leverage. We'll get that popped out, and that should be enough room, we can relax our strap a little bit to bring it down a little farther. Now we have these rubber plugs on both sides that we'll remove. You can just use a flathead screwdriver, get in under it and pop it off. Now we'll identify the three holes on both sides that we'll use to mount our hitch. There's one on the bottom, two on the inside. And we'll just take our hardware and thread it in and out. You could use a wire brush or somethin
