Ontario's Best Dog Beach? Let's Check Out Port Burwell Provincial Park!

Looking for a pet-friendly park on Lake Erie to explore with your adventure dogs? Port Burwell Provincial Park might be just what you’re looking for. Located on the shore of Lake Erie, approximately an hour from London, Ontario, this park is best known for being one of the best dog beaches not only in all of Ontario Parks, but in the province! In addition to the park’s 2.5 km sandy beach, it also features over 200 campsites, 2 group camping sites, and 2 hiking trails. We visited Port Burwell in May 2025 for a weekend getaway with our dogs, Lucifer and Willow. It wasn’t our (Britt and John’s) first trip to the park, but it was a first for the pups. While the weather wasn’t ideal (what’s camping without a little rain), we made the most of it and had a great time exploring all that this park had to offer with our two troublemakers. In this video, we’ll take you along on our weekend trip to Port Burwell PP, show off the dog beach, explore the campground, and share our honest thoughts from a pet parent’s perspective.
