I don't know about you, but I had this feeling that the ModDemix is often overlooked as a crucial Shared System module - even removed when space is limited. I did. I thought of it as a VCA with a Ring Mod and always reverted back to the Optomix when a VCA was needed. I personally feel Low Pass Gates just sound way better than plain VCA's and the rule 'you can't have too many VCA's' didn't ring my mod. I felt the ModDemix was still a loose end in the series so I checked out the manual, did some patches and got really impressed with this little utility. It can create incredible soundscapes. I did not cover the advanced stuff like thru-zero FM and moddemod patches, but 'mod-demod' is shown at 04:07 where I modulate a signal with a sine, and demodulate it with a different voltage. If you'd use the same waveform / voltage for modulation/demodulation, you'd get an AM radio effect. Visit Cinematic on Soundcloud: / cinematic
