Good evening everyone and welcome to adoration and celebration of the Holy Mass on this Friday of the Fifth Week in Ordinary Time. In the reading from 1 Kings, the Lord stips 10 tribes from Rehaboam due to the tyranny of Soloman and his son. They were given to Jeraboam, but he failed to be faithful to the Lord God and included foreign worship. Without repentence the northern tribes are eventually removed from the land. The Responsorial Psalm is Psalm 81: "I am the Lord your God; hear my voice." In the gospel, Jesus goes to the norther area and heals a man, saying, "Ephphatha, Be opened". Open our ears Lord to clearly hear you speaking to us and then give us the grace to speak clearly the good news of your healing and salvation.
