Healthy Meal Ideas! | Food Diary Friday

READ ME for information on all food items mentioned & preparation methods/health benefits info! ALSO, comment with what YOU ate today! I love to keep in touch with my subbies! Today's Food Diary: SUPPLEMENTS I took a multivitamin (which I always do, as it is a great habit to get into while you're young) with probiotics, which support the digestive system and overall health. I also have started to take Aloe Vera juice, and you can read ALL about how INCREDIBLE this is for skin/digestion etc here: http://sacredsourcenutrition.com/top-... Finally, I'm still taking Evening Primrose & Starflower Oil as my doctor recommended them for skin conditions AND for monthly PMS issues...it has been over three months since I started & I have to say, I do think they are making a difference :) BREAKFAST 'Apple Pie Porridge' is my own little recipe of goodness and I love it! To make it, I use: 1/2 cup jumbo organic porridge oats 1/2 cup whole organic milk 1/2 cup water 1 tsp manuka honey 1 tsp coconut oil (organic and unrefined/cold pressed) 1 apple (grated) Lots of cinnamon (because I adore it!) I heat the coconut oil in a pan then I grate the apple (green) into the pan, douse it with cinnamon and then I heat up the apple cinnamon mixture until it starts to smell like apple pie! Don't do this on a high heat as you don't want it to burn :) Then I cook the oats with the milk and water in a pot as normal (packet directions), add the honey then add in my pan creation! MMM! It tastes SO nice and is really filling! You wont feel bloated or sick after a breakfast like this and your blood sugar will be balanced throughout the morning! I had lemon water too...it is amazing to have in the morning, and I need a little break from coffee every now and then! SNACK 1 1/2 banana chopped up with a couple of heaped teaspoons of organic natural yogurt (I love Glenisk!) plus half a grapefruit...I grew up eating grapefruit all the time & adore how bitter it is! LUNCH Quinoa pot (heated in a pot rather than the microwave...the microwave scares me a little, ha ha!)...I read out the ingredients in the video & as you can see, it is full of nutrient dense superfoods & is very wholesome yet satisfying at the same time, really really tasty! I had the other half of my grapefruit on the side with some red currants, YUM! SNACK 2: The NAKD bar in caffe mocha flavour...oh my, if you like coffee, trust me, you'll ADORE this! Really feels like a treat because dates are so sweet, it only contains raw fruit and nuts smooched together with a little natural flavouring :) Never baked, no added sugars or syrups...you guys know how much I love these bars as I always go on about them! I also had 1/2 scoop chocolate protein powder blended up, to make this snack more balanced and filling! DINNER: We had turkey burgers (made with the Tone It Up recipe, see here:    • Видео  ) and some sweet potato wedges (chop up sweet potato, toss in a little olive oil with paprika, red pepper flakes, oregano, salt and pepper, then bake for 30 minutes or as long as you want until they reach that 'wedge' like consistency!) + sugar snap peas (they're delicious!) and some Nando's sauce ha ha...we're obsessed with Nando's in this house! So spicy, be warned! DESSERT: 2 squares of 85% dark chocolate, perfect end to a perfect day! Great to nibble/suck on with a movie! This menu is full of lean protein, good whole fats, complex carbohydrates, fruit and vegetables, with some sweetness in there to keep one from going insane! For me, this is the perfect way to eat as when I eat like this, my body looks how I want it to look, I never feel deprived and I'm nourishing my body at the same time! I don't count calories or grams or measure stuff (apart from cup measurements when going by package directions, but it isn't a calorie thing, it is a portion thing)...portion control is key with diet! For instance, if I go to the cinema, I'll treat myself, but I just wont overdo it, which helps me to live a fun life, stress free from food worries! Healthy habits series is DEFINITELY happening as a LOT of people showed interested, so keep your eyes peeled, guys! My plan will be to have at least one food video AND one beauty video a week, with another random video thrown in!
