This is the outcome of an experiment into producing the cheapest possible sound fitted loco. Started with a new Hornby railroad 33, fitted a R8245 Sapphire chip for the motor and lights and a Digitrax sfx004 Soundbug for the sound. I uploaded the sounds to the chip using the Digitrax PR3 programmer and Soundloader software (see digitrax site for info) via the laptop. The sounds are WAV files recorded from the internet and mixed using Cooledit pro. Total cost around £95, less than a Loksound chip on it's own.
