Tennessee Cobras at Alcoa Alloys - IAFL regular season Saturday, March 9th, 2019 The Tennessee Cobras traveled east to Alcoa, TN to take on the Alcoa Alloys in early season IAFL action. It was the first game for the Cobras, while the Alloys looked to rebound following a close loss in their previous game to the Tennessee Tribe. Despite committing multiple first-half turnovers, the Cobras trailed just 0-6 in the late 2nd quarter, when lightning caused an early halftime to be called with under 2 minutes remaining in the half. When play resumed as the lightning cleared, the Cobras got back into the contest, tying the game 6-6 after a defensive fumble-recovery set them up inside the Alloys 10-yard line. Soon after, a pick-six by the Cobras defense put them up 12-6 by the end of the 3rd quarter. The Alloys rallied in the 4th quarter, regaining a 14-12 lead on a rushing touchdown and successful 2-pt play, but the Cobras would respond with their own score, their second passing touchdown of the contest, to go ahead 18-14. A late defensive stand held off the Alloys on their final offensive series, capped by a game-clinching interception by the Cobras defense to cement the victory. FINAL SCORE Cobras 18 Alloys 14
