Celeste - 7D1D Golden Strawberry

This is the old/unnerfed version of 7D1D, and, as of uploading this, the hardest golden ever achieved. I started this golden grind when I first cleared the map in May 2021. Back then, it was way out of my skill range and only a dream for me. I spent about 150 hours in the map over the course of a few months, and came out of it with nothing more than deathless checkpoints (except for 3K, in which I had an Ogmo room PB). Still, ever since then, 7D1D has been my absolute end goal for Celeste goldening, and something I’ve always wanted to do. For the next 3 years after my first arc with the map, I had lost motivation to play, as I thought I wouldn’t be able to make any meaningful progress just like before. Thankfully, in 2024, I got a spark of motivation and came back. In this ~100 hour arc, I managed to get a 4 death run and a deathless run to flag 20, which I was ecstatic about. (For this I have to thank all the people who found strats for the map during this time period, as my 2021 strats were far less consistent.) I finally felt like I was capable of getting the golden at this point, but I needed to keep pushing. Unfortunately, I lost motivation again, until 2025, when my final arc began. In reality this is more like two mini-arcs, since around June I played for a bit but only managed to improve my low death PB by 1. The true final push began at the start of October. I grinded 7D1D almost every day for hours on end, with a level of motivation I never had before. On October 10th, I got my second run to 3K. In the following two weeks, I managed to rack up another 11 runs to 3K, including an insane session on October 23rd when I got 5 runs to nowind in 3K, and a flag 2 PB. Today, October 24th, I got the golden on my first 3K run of the day, with a final journal time of about 360 hours (estimated, because my journal has been wiped multiple times over the years). To say I’m overjoyed about this is an understatement. After years of doubt and demotivation I can finally say I’ve goldened this amazing map, and I finally have the hardest golden that I always wanted. There are so many people to thank for making this possible. Thanks to Clantis, ninz, cheezysf, 10PercentPig, krzysieke, SpKi, eenox, and Mak for grinding this golden alongside me and finding strats. Thanks especially to ninz for her golden commentary video which was incredibly helpful when I relearned the map in 2024. Thanks to all the people who I chatted with to keep golden attempts from getting boring. Thanks to fishtank for making this map, and for updating it in 2021 to make the map better for goldening.
