Thank you for watching this video! :-) I hope you enjoy this short tour of Miller Creek Canyon located in Farmington Canyon, Utah! This canyon isn't known for the hiking trails, but it does have a lot of mining history including several mines, prospects, relics, a dam, and even a few waterfalls! I hiked (more like bushwhacked) this a long time ago and found several trees with what I think are names of the miners carved on them. I also saw evidence of mining with several dams in the creek and lots of tailings. One of the biggest mine producers of copper and gold in the area is found in Miller Creek: The Lucky Boy Mine. According to some documents I found, it had a vertical shaft and two levels, which is odd for a mine in Davis County. One of my brothers said he visited this mine when he was much younger and saw it when it was still open. We came back years later to the spot where he thought it was located and we found that someone blew up the entrance and caused it to be permanently sealed. Most of the mines in this canyon were worked by a man named Henry Southworth. Henry also worked other mines in Farmington Canyon.
