The VDE, in collaboration with the Hessian Minister for Digital Strategy and Innovation, Professor Kristina Sinemus, successfully hosted the first Al Quality Summit on November 2, 2022 in Frankfurt. The summit brought together industry leaders to discuss the importance of quality in the field of artificial intelligence and how it can be achieved in Europe. During the summit, attendees discussed topics such as robustness, resilience, performance, verifiability, transparency, and security. There was an emphasis on operationalization of AI quality testing, with representation from governments, policy makers, companies, and AI testing startups. The summit also touched on the regulatory context of the EU AI Act and the frameworks established by multinational institutions such as the OECD, UNESCO, and the Council of Europe. These frameworks were discussed as crucial for Europe's ability to compete in global markets. In addition to these broader discussions, the summit delved into the technical challenges of ensuring AI quality.
