Here's the basic steps and products I used in changing the oil on my 2012 Yamaha VMAX SHO four stroke outboard. This was a new powerhead on this motor due to the 2011 recall on long blocks. I broke the motor in with conventional oil, then switched to synthetic oil. Hasn't made a drop of oil and runs great!
