Now, there are different options that you can purchase. There are LED bulbs that is compatible with the T8 magnetic ballast, a bypass type, a Hybrid or Plug and play that will work with both electronic and magnetic ballast as well as with no ballast at all. The price for these replacement if about 70% higher than their fluorescent counterpart but it is a great option for people who want to switch to LED but don't want to re-wire their fixture.
